A Note from the Directors:
Our leadership position seems to make us feel a need for assessing, contemplating and determining if our ministry is effective and if we are truly meeting the needs of our precious children. Because we have been given such a privilege of leading in the children’s ministries here at Community Bible Church, we desire with all our hearts to lead in such a way that first of all pleases our Savior. We are taught in scripture: That whatever you do, do your work heartily as for the Lord rather than for men; knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. (Colossians 3: 22-23) We are assured from the gospel of Matthew that needs will be met and much can be accomplished if we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.
Secondly, it is our ambition to guide children and provide a safe, fun place for them to come and join other believers worship the one true God. We are thankful for parents who choose to entrust their children to our ministry. And so glad that other individuals who love children in their neighborhoods will also bring others’ children to our programs where they can be taught and nurtured.
Most of us know that all children are very “needy”. They need love, attention, our time, security, and so many other things. Christ taught that we would always have the poor and needy with us. The joy we have experienced is seeing and knowing firsthand the many individuals in this church who choose to help us meet the many needs of these children who come to CBC. We are able to measure success in knowing that we have teens and adults who truly care for the lives of these many children. So many children are loved, nurtured and taught the truth of God’s Word regularly here in our ministries through Sunday School, AWANA, and KidsLife. We are grateful for the time we spend organizing, leading and recruiting more volunteers to love and care for the wonderful creations with which God has blessed this congregation.
How do we measure success? Take a walk through the halls during our Sunday School program and listen as the teachers tell of God’s love for the children. Listen as the children sing songs of worship with their teachers on a weekly basis. Walk through on Sunday evenings and listen to young people recite scriptures that many adults do not know. Join us in the pavilion for AWANA games as the men leaders cheer and encourage the children to play hard and do their best. Come and meet our specialty teachers during KidsLife who are teaching children about science and God’s creation, cake decorating, how to perform a skit, and the Spanish language.
What a thrill to be part of a growing church and be given the opportunity in so many ways to bring honor and glory to our blessed Savior! Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Cor. 10:31
